Week of Action

The North Cluster will be holding a 'Week of Action' during the week beginning 14th November 2011.  Council officers, police and other local partners will be working alongside local people to raise awareness of safety issues, tackle litter and graffiti and other local issues.  Watch out for the community safety bus in your area.

Cluster Meeting 20th October 2011

The  North Cluster Forum held a meeting on the 20th October 2011 at the Tawny Owl from 3.30 - 7.00 pm. The meeting highlighted the wide range of activities that take place in the Mouldon Hill area, eg angling, walking, biking, railway, canal, etc and how the area will grow.  There were updates on Mouldon Hill (phases 1 and 2) and options for the future.

At 6.00 pm there was a formal meeting with an update from SBC Landscape Architects on Moulden Hill and an opportunity to start a Friends of Moulden Hill group.

North Cluster Forum Meeting 15th September

We held our latest cluster meeting on Thursday 15th September at the Haydon Wick Parish rooms at 7pm.  We discussed how we might support the North Swindon week of action in November.  We also talked about highway solutions.  Our next meeting will be focussed on Moulden hills, further details to follow.

North Cluster Forum Meeting 7th July 2011

Thanks to everyone who came along to our Cluster Forum on Thursday 7th July at Haydon Wick Parish Rooms,  We talked together about local policing, One Swindon, recreation facilities and Moulden Hills.  The date of our next meeting will be announced soon   We also eleted a vice chair for the North Cluster.

North Swindon Cluster Meeting

We held a North Swindon Cluster meeting on Tuesday 8th March at the North Swindon Library.  This was an opportunity for local people to get their voices heard and to influence decision making in North Swindon.  Items for discussion included Policing, Moulden Hills, the Core Planning Strategy and other issues raised by local residents.

Place Shaping Event - Haydon Wick - 22nd October 2010

The North Cluster Place Shaping Event was held on Friday 22nd October 2010 from 5.30 - 7.30 pm at the Haydon Wick Parish Rooms, Thames Avenue.

Haydon Wick Place Shaping Event - The purpose of the event was to provide the opportunity for the community to take part in setting their own local planning priorities.  People had the chance to influence the future provision of houses, roads, shops, parks and other facilities.  The outcome of the event was used to shape local policies in one of the Council's most important planning strategies.

Place Shaping in Our Communities Participation Event (Rural North Swindon)

The latest North Cluster meeting was held on Wednesday 13th October 2010 from 4.00pm to 8.00pm at the village hall Blunsdon. This involved two Councillors, Cllr Doreen Dart and Cllr Peter Stoddart and the Cluster Lead Allyson Jordan.  Stalls were set up by Haydon Wick and Blunsdon Parish councils, Redhouse residents association, Parks and Green spaces, Highways and Streetsmart.  This allowed the members of the public to raise any issues within their community and discuss future projects.  Wiltshire Police were also present to discuss any police matters that may have come up.

Independence and Well Being Event

The North Cluster have held another event to follow on from the success of the Free Time event held in the summer.  This time the theme was 'Independence and Well Being' and the event was held at North Swindon Library on 19th October 2009 between 3.30 pm and 7.30 pm.

Free Time Event

On Monday 13th July 2009, North Cluster held an event at the Tawny Owl pub.  The theme of the event was 'Free Time'.  Representatives from the Council and other organisations shared information about activities in the cluster and also information about their plans for Moulden Hills Country Park.  The event was a great success attracting hundreds of local people, the event was reported in the Swindon Advertiser.
