Next South Cluster Meeting

Our next South Cluster meeting will be held on 28th November at the Ellendune Centre in Wroughton.  The meeting will start at 6pm (tea and coffee will be available at the start), with speakers starting at 7pm.  We propose that the speakers on the evening will be:

  • Inspector Roger Bull, Wiltshire Police - Inspector Bull is the new Swindon East Sector Head and this will be the first time he has attended one of our South Cluster meetings in this capacity.  He will speak on crime and policing issues affecting us all in the cluster and will be available after the meeting to answer questions that you may have.
  • Gwillam Lloyd - Swindon Borough Council's Head of Highway Network Management - as his title suggests, Gwillam will give a short presentation on developments in the Cluster on that topic.  Again he will be available afterwards to offer any help and guidance should you have a highway issue in our are that you would like to be addressed.

In addition there will be Council Officers present from Streetsmart, Planning and the Youth Team who will be on hand before the presentations to meet with you again, help with any queries you may have about these services.

If you wish to attend it would be helpful if you could confirm by sending an e-mail to jgoodall@swindon.gov.uk for refreshments purposes.

Please feel free to invite anyone who may be interested, everyone is welcome.

South Cluster Meeting for residents of Wroughton, Chiseldon, Ridgeway and Old Town wards

The South Cluster held a meeting in the Ellendune Centre, Wroughton on the 24th February 2011 from 6.00  8.30pm.

There were three important presentations: firstly around changes to Swindon's Core Strategy which was the topic discussed amongst residents and planning officers at the last meeting, secondly the response by Wiltshire Police Authority to the Government's comprehensive spending review and its impact in Wiltshire and Swindon by Cllr. Brian Ford, Vice-Chairman of the Wiltshire Police Authority, followed by Inspector Nicholas John, our Area Inspector, who spoke on the implications for policing in Swindon.

These presentations took place between 7.00 - 8.30pm and there was an opportunity to ask questions.

In addition from 6.00pm there was an opportunity to meet officers from the Council in areas such as Highways, Streetscene, Transport, Community Forest and other local organisations.
