Woodlands in your area
Swindon Borough Council is about to start on a much needed programme of woodland management. The work is being supported by the Forestry Commission and the Great Western Community Forest. The project will be spread over 3 years starting in February 2012 in the Shaftesbury Lakes, Liden and Eldene areas. During the project, local communities including school groups will be invited to see the work in action and learn more about the benefits of managing woodlands. If you want to know more about the project contact Richard Hyett, Arboricultural Officer by email on woodlandmanagment@swindon.gov.uk or by phone 01793 466318.
