The date for the next SSP Conference has now been set. The Conference will be held on Monday 12th October 2009 at the STEAM Museum in Swindon. Invitations will be sent out soon.
Swindon Borough Council has adopted the Swindon Sustainable Building Design and Construction Supplementary Planning Document for use as a material consideration in the planning process from 1st January 2008. The Supplementary Planning Document introduces the Swindon Standard, which is sustainability standard for new major development in Swindon. The SPD is also supported by a Sustainability Appraisal which assess the significant effects of the guidance. Future applications for major development in Swindon will need to provide information in respect of how the proposal addresses the Swindon Standard. This information is detailed in the SPD.
