Recent customer reviews on Trip Advisor – the popular travel and days out website - have placed STEAM at the top of the list of Wiltshire attractions.
It's top of the list of 72 places to visit in Wiltshire, ahead of attractions like Salisbury Cathedral, Longleat and Stonehenge.
Up-to-date reviews include comments as recent as July through to October 2011. And STEAM's great variety of hands-on exhibits, locomotives and displays, plus disabled access, cleanliness and friendly customer service are all topics mentioned time and again in the customer reviews shown on the site.
Cllr Garry Perkins, Deputy Leader of Swindon Borough Council and the Cabinet Member responsible for museums, said: "The current ratings showing on Trip Advisor are very encouraging and great news for STEAM. The comments from visitors are outstanding and reflect the very positive feedback that we also get from customers here at STEAM, so while they are not a big surprise it is fantastic for the museum to be recognised in this way."
